Texas born and raised, Chef Ben Merritt spent many summers on the coastal shores of the Gulf of Mexico. From as far south as Corpus Christi where his grandmother lived, all the way around to Florida where he spent time stationed there while enlisted in the Navy. During his 20's Chef Merritt spent his time traveling and experiencing everything the world had to offer, from other cultures to the local cuisines. This time set the foundation for his culinary journey. Upon serving his time in the military, Chef Ben attended the Arts Institute of Dallas where he earned his degree in Culinary Arts. Chef Ben Merritt has owned and operated Fixture - Kitchen and Social Lounge in Fort Worth's Near Southside for the past 6 years. During that time he won and earned numerous awards including Top Chef of Fort Worth. Outside of the restaurant Ben is happily married to his wife Jesika, and they have 3 children.
